Job Opening — SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST – PLANNING & ANALYSIS

Responsibilities -
Lead coordination of rolling forecast process & assist the Director of Financial Analysis and Planning with the annual strategic planning process
(Key Duties)
• Develop forecasting & planning calendar with input from key stakeholders and contributors. Assist in determining the scope and definition of deliverables including the key areas of emphasis and analysis.
• Assemble forecast and strategic plan inputs from business units, functions, and key F&A resources and develop overall company P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet reporting. Assist in the development of templates to gather input as well as support the development of written materials for the SLRP.
• Administer the SLRP, Forecast, and Bridge-to-Execution website for Executive Management.
• Administer the Planning software used to gather, analyze and report the forecast and planning information.
• Maintain and improve modeling capabilities, along with appropriate linkages to other reporting processes (e.g., cash and debt, ratio forecasting).
• Maintain, develop, and improve analytics that underpin the forecast through coordination with stakeholders. Pro-actively question assumptions to test validity and appropriateness.
• Prepare communication package for Executive management, highlighting the forecast outcomes, key issues/challenges, and risks/opportunities.
• Provide innovative suggestions and identify and implement improvements or modifications to support the planning cycles.

Lead analysis of variances between actual results, forecasts, and SLRP as well as issue-to-issue and plan-to-plan variances & complete the appropriate financial reporting
• Own process to measure P&L, cash flow, balance sheet, and ratio results versus plan and forecasts.
• Develop and implement reporting and analytical tool process improvements that provide management with a better understanding of variances and the sensitivity of results to changes in key business drivers (e.g., application of Crystal Ball).
• Work with stakeholders to identify potential risks and opportunities, and communicate these to senior management within and outside the F&A function as appropriate.
• Oversee development of BTE tools to measure results versus target; these may include enhancements to the existing BTE process such as scorecards, summaries of results against key milestones by quarter, and other similar tools.
• Use variance analysis to identify further opportunities for improvements in the forecasting and planning process where appropriate.
• Responsible for ad hoc reporting and analysis which may include, but not be limited to scenario and contingency planning.
• Compile annual financial performance package, including projection results and input from Business Unit Finance, for presentation to Senior Management with Director of Financial Analysis and Planning, highlighting key points of analysis.
• Support maintenance of Financial Analysis Standards, ensuring analytical evaluation tools are updated as needed to meet business needs.

Associate development
(Key Duties)
• Manage the career and technical skill development of direct and indirect reports that will enable them to provide more effective leadership and support to key business customers.
• Complete Annual Work and Development plans for each Associate to provide performance feedback, develop business objectives and create goals and align Associate career development with functional objectives.
• Ensure effective communication of relevant information to ensure Associate understanding of the business.

Education & Experience
• A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university with a major in accounting or finance is required. CPA/CMA certifications are a plus.
• Minimum of five years of previous accounting or finance experience with work related to Financial Analysis, planning or strategy is desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Job Skills Requirements
• Ability to work with ambiguity and manage self with high level of independence.
• Advanced PC skills including Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced understanding of financial analysis and accounting policies, procedures, programs and processes.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical and common economic concepts in a financial setting; including the ability to apply statistical techniques as required, such as frequency distribution, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Strong leadership skills.
