Job Opening — Finance Manager
This position is a critical leadership position on the Innovation Team focused on being an entrepreneurial force for driving new ideas and products to market. The manager is the main finance contact and support and is the core financial expert for this specific area of innovation. Key responsibilities include: financial valuation, market modeling, costing, demand planning, acquisition analysis, negotiation, portfolio optimization and project management. Depending on the project, the manager role will vary from individual contributor, to cross-functional team leader, to direct project leader. This position will coordinate activities between a commercial segment and R&D and Supply Chain (i.e. for capacity and capital planning) finance and is a key driver of coordinating the build of strategy.
Since the position is responsible for developing and executing forecast/financial modeling for new strategic initiatives, the candidate must have a strong knowledge of the business environment across the brands. This can be developed through partnership with the general managers’ teams, sales force and market research groups. This role must objectively determine the financial impact of projects supported in a very dynamic market environment. Additional responsibilities will include maintaining customer profitability application across the business.
This position will also be a key contributor to analyze gross margin and support efforts to improve profitability. This is a major, highly visible global initiative for the division.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
A generalist with financial expertise. Needs to have an entrepreneurial passion with a focus on getting results. The manager is required to figure out how to advance the agenda in the organization, but also challenge the status quo as appropriate. The individual must enjoy “thinking big” as opposed to having a narrow analytical focus.
A self-starter with attention to detail. The candidate must possess strong analytical and communication (oral and written) skills plus have an ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Advanced use of Microsoft Office Applications, with a specific focus on Excel. A minimum of 6-8 years combined finance experience in the following areas: Pricing, FP&A, Product Marketing, and/or Sales.
To be truly effective, the role must be able to operate independently with significant interfaces across functions, groups, and business units, balancing demands from a variety of customers with potentially conflicting goals. Must be able to communicate effectively up and down the organization and across the functional areas.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor degree, preferably Business Administration, Finance concentration with MBA preferred.
