Job Opening — Financial support manager/project supervisor
The Financial Support Manager / Project Supervisor - Global Product Supply provides key financial support and analysis to the GPS Manufacturing and Procurement division. The activities within the group provide the opportunity for a broad and diverse set of responsibilities and experiences.
This position reports to the Controller - Global Product Supply. The position will work closely with both the Global Contract Manufacturing & Sourcing and Global Procurement groups. Additionally, this position will have a Financial Analyst position reporting directly into it. This provides the candidate with an opportunity to develop people management skills as well as providing additional support for detailed analysis and reporting.
Primary objectives, accountabilities, and responsibilities:
1. Support Global Contract Manufacturing & Sourcing, completing financial analysis to support new product commercialization:
o New product sourcing strategies
o Financial analysis/support through commercialization for contract manufactured new products
2. Support Global Procurement, completing financial activities and related analysis to support external negotiations:
o Supplier/contractual negotiations and strategies
o Scenario/sensitivity analysis of contract terms alternatives and variations
o Top to top review of strategic suppliers
o Cost savings initiatives
o Base business sourcing studies
3. Provide financial support to the company's complexity reduction initiatives, focusing on product harmonization within and across categories
o Identify opportunities to migrate to common product elements
o Analyze financial impact and develop metrics
4. Support GPS within the company's key financial processes:
o Execute appropriate annual planning activities with regional product supply units
o Execute appropriate monthly financial reporting, including operations and consolidated
o Complete Capital Budgeting activities
o Prepare and manage the Export P&L
o Prepare and manage the GPS budget
5. Develop global best practices in manufacturing and procurement financial analysis, including product costing, out of pocket analysis, and inter-company pricing
6. Support Best People, Best Place initiatives by focusing on:
o Employee training and development
o Fostering integrity, trust and diversity
Desired Skills:
The ideal candidate will have the following profile:
o Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA and/or MBA preferred
o Broad business experience, with at least 5 years work experience, and at least 2 years of manufacturing support experience preferred
o Demonstrated analytical skills, being able to organize relevant data into meaningful analyses
o Solid initiative and leadership skill, with ability to influence colleagues
o Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to network throughout the company
o Effectively communicate to upper management
o Strong PC and systems skills, with experience in SAP, Hyperion, and SEM
